Zusatzinformationen
We need to work with Russia to find solutions to the many conflicts raging in our neighbourhood – in Syria and Libya and in the fight against international terrorism. However, this will only be possible if lost trust is rebuilt and if Russia accepts the European peace order. Territorial integrity and the peoples’ right to self-determination remain the fundamental tenets of this order.
Erler is travelling to Russia to attend the Bergedorf Round Table organised by the Körber Foundation and the Russian International Affairs Council in Moscow on the topic “Russia and Europe – what unites us, what divides us?” and the fifteenth Petersburg dialogue on the topic “Russia and Europe in light of global challenges.” Erler will also hold talks in Moscow with Aleksey Meshkov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ella Pamfilova, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation; Tatyana Moskalkova, the new Human Rights Ombudsman; and Alexei Pushkov, Chairperson of the Duma’s Foreign Affairs Committee.
