Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier today (13 July) issued the following statement in Berlin on the NATO-Russia Council meeting:
Zusatzinformationen
I am pleased that the NATO-Russia Council met today, just a few days after the summit in Warsaw, and that the meeting was, as we have heard, constructive. The priority at today’s meeting was to have a frank discussion on issues relating to transparency and risk reduction. In this context, NATO presented the decisions taken in Warsaw to the Russian side. It became clear that both sides have an interest in maintaining dialogue and exchange, also in the NATO-Russia Council, and in continuing to use this forum as an important channel of communication.
