No peace without women – conference at the Federal Foreign Office on implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1325

On Friday, 18 November 2016, a conference co‑organised by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the Federal Foreign Office on implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security will take place at the Federal Foreign Office.

Participants from the spheres of politics, administration, the military, the police, civil society and academia will explore the role and experiences of women in peace missions and peace processes with international experts and discuss how women’s inclusion in all phases of conflict prevention and conflict management can be improved.

The conference will be opened by Manuela Schwesig, Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, and Bärbel Kofler, Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid at the Federal Foreign Office.
